The pair were said to have met up ‘discreetly’ before making their way to the Hollywood Palladium gig, but left separately to avoid the lurking paps waiting outside, according to X17Online. In one photo, 28-year-old Katy is seen wearing an all-black gothic-inspired ensemble with a long satin coat and leather skirt as she sidles up to Rob sporting (you guessed it) his signature bomber/cap combo inside the venue. The singer later took to Twitter to rave about her night in the mosh-pit, but slyly made zero reference to her hunky new BFF. “Dear Bjork, how do I join your traveling girl cult? #brilliantshow”, Perry tweeted.
The Bjork besties have been seen hanging out pretty regularly over the past month, and sources tell HollywoodLife.com that Rob has been leaning on the Part Of Me singer ever since since splitting up with on/off girlfriend Kristen Stewart. “Katy has been really supportive of Rob since he and Kristen split up”, a friend of Katy’s revealed. “She has been his main support during this whole breakup. Kristen has tons of friends that she can lean on, whereas most of Rob’s closest friends are in England. Rob isn’t going to hang out with Kristen’s friends anymore, so it’s like he doesn’t have Kristen in his life anymore, and that includes all of her friends.”
“It’s been tough on Rob, and Katy wants to be there for him,” the friend continues. “She feels like she can give him a shoulder to lean on and understands first hand the pain that one feels when a relationship ends.” But with Katy reportedly patching things up with ex-boyfriend John Mayer after he was spotted leaving her Hollywood Hills mansion before the two munched grub together at LA’s Chateau Marmont hotel last week, it could be that K-Patz’s friendly set-up really is purely platonic.
