She’ll be following in the footsteps of Kelly Osbourne, Georgia May Jagger and Taylor Momsen, who’ve all fronted campaigns for the brand, which was set up by Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes Leon in 2010.
According to The Sun, Rita has already shot a series of promotional images for the campaign, which it’s believed will help the singer crack the US. A source told the paper today: “Lourdes has been a fan of Rita for a while and has been to many of her gigs. She persuaded her mum to see her.
“They met at the Met Ball in New York last week and Madonna admired Rita’s attitude so signed the idea off. Rita jumped at the chance because she’s such a fan of the Queen Of Pop. She also hopes it will help her crack the States in the same way she has the UK.”
That was quick! Rita’s list of showbiz contacts is looking cooler by the second – she’s already signed to Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation label and counts Cara Delevingne and Calvin Harris as her BFFs. Now Madonna? We’re not jealous at all.
The singer’s team have yet to confirm the news, but the collection would certainly suit Rita’s edgy, 90s-inspired style. Watch this space…
