Princess Diana’s Dresses Set To Sell For £1m At Auction

Princess Diana‘s dresses are being sold off an an auction today, and experts predict that they’ll fetch a whopping £1 million.

The gorgeous gowns were originally sold off by Diana herself following her divorce from Prince Charles to raise money for charity. The original buyer, an American businesswoman, initially bought these ten dresses, but is now selling them off after finding herself in huge amounts of debt, according to reports.

The dresses have been valued at £830,000 but are expected to sell for much more. They include outfits worn to film premieres and state events. The blue velvet dress Princess Diana wore to dance with John Travolta at the White House in the late eighties is also up for sale.

Six of the dresses are by one of the late Princess’s favourite designers, Walker, while Bruce Oldield’s creations also feature in the line-up.

An auctioneer told The Mirror: “It’s probably the last time that these 10 Diana dresses will be seen together because after the auction obviously they’ll probably be scattered across the world.

“In a way it’s like a little history of Diana’s life through her clothes.” RM
