Rihanna has been axed from her role as the face of Nivea, because the CEO of the brand thinks she’s too sexy.
We can’t imagine she’ll be too offended by the comments, but nonetheless it’s a little humiliating for the star, who was announced as the face of the skincare brand last year.
In an interview with a German newspaper, Nivea boss Stefan Heidenreich said: “The advert starring Rihanna was a no-go. I do not understand how Nivea can be brought into association with Rihanna.”
He then added: “Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.”
The 24-year-old was appointed the face of the brand last year, to celebrate its 100th anniversary. At the time, Nivea said: “We are excited to have Rihanna supporting us in our celebration and building a new generation of fans. Rihanna is a music icon.”
Still, Rihanna isn’t too upset about the comments – she posted a picture of Stefan on her Twitter feed with the message: “No caption necessary.”
Oops, that’s told him! RM
