Rihanna is queen. Don’t believe us? Just ask Twitter after what she did at the Billboard Music Awards.
First up, the 28-year-old turned every single head on the red carpet by arriving in an olive green Thierry Mugler silk coat dress that wouldn’t work on everyone, but oh look! Rihanna made it look fierce.
In fact, the whole thing had a major ’80s vibe thanks to those shoulder pads, and RiRi made sure to accessorise like a pro by adding a pair of yellow and black embellished satin Manolo Blahnik mules and huge diamond earrings, whilst wearing her hair down in messy, textured curls.
As well as scooping the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, Rihanna also took to the stage to perform new single Love On The Brain. And let’s just say it made a bit of an impression.
Wearing (another) olive green suit, this time with a furry mint green stole draped around her shoulders, the Bajan beauty belted out her new hit after emerging from a glass box covered in cobwebs, with zero backing dancers or pyrotechnics to help her out.
It easily got the best audience reaction of the night. And Twitter? Well, they couldn’t contain themselves.
‘Best Rihanna vocals ever was on the #BBMAs tonight … She slayed life!!!’, wrote one impressed viewer.
‘Damn Rihanna killed it!! #BBMAs’, praised another.
‘The vocal classes though. Haters can move on now. #paidoff #Rihanna #BBMAs’, commented a third.
Whilst another proved just how much the star impressed, tweeting: ‘For all the ppl who thought @rihanna couldnt sing… I hoped you watched the #BBMAs.’
