Prue Leith has upset A LOT of Great British Bake Off fans today.
The judge accidentally tweeted the winner of this year’s series… hours before the show is set to air. Eeeep.
We’ve chosen not to include the name in this article, but Prue’s message read: ‘No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo [winner].’
She’s since said that she’s ‘in too much of a state to talk about it’, and has explained that she made the blunder due to a time difference.
The 77-year-old told the Press Association: ‘I’m in Bhutan. The time difference is massive. I thought that they got it six hours ago. I’m in too much of a state to talk about it. I f***** up.’
She’s also written on Twitter: ‘I am so sorry to the fans of the show for my mistake this morning, I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error.’
While Prue swiftly deleted the tweet, it had already been screengrabbed and re-posted across the site.
Of course, viewers have quite a lot to say about the situation. One raged: ‘Have you just ruined the GBBO final?’ while Love Island‘s Cara de la Hoyde added: ‘This is absolutely devastating let’s hope Prue is confused and thinks it’s April fools day [sic].’

Prue had earlier confirmed that she and fellow judge Paul Hollywood would return for the next series of Channel 4’s Bake Off, alongside presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding.
She revealed on Twitter: ‘It’s the GBBO final! Who will win? Thrilled to say Paul, Noel Sandi & I will all be back! Do you want to join us?’
Poor Prue. We all make mistakes, eh…?
