The 32-year-old reckons the X Factor contestant is 'taking the right mickey out of rap'
Honey G may have received rave reviews from The X Factor judges on Saturday night – but she’s still dividing viewers.
The 35-year-old rapper performed Will Smith’s Men In Black for the Halloween special, which led Simon Cowell to declare: ‘After tonight, G stands for The Greatest.’ Wowzers.
Honey G – real name Anna Georgette Gilford – managed to garner enough support to stay safe for another week. However, not everyone was particularly happy about it.
When Professor Green appeared on The Xtra Factor, he made his thoughts on her success very clear.
The 32-year-old told hosts Rylan Clark and Matt Edmonson: ‘I don’t feel she should be in the competition. I feel like she’s taking the right mickey out of rap and I feel like it’s a bit of an injustice.
‘It’s an entertainment show but music is at the core of it, come on.’
Eep. Plenty of people then took to Twitter to agree with him, with one commenting: ‘So glad that professor green has had the courage to be honest I wholeheartedly agree with his summary of honey G #rubbish singer [sic].’
Another said: ‘Didn’t think I could love @professorgreen more than I already do…then he slates Honey G! Bout time it was said! Well done.#XtraFactor.’
Pro isn’t the first celebrity to speak out about Honey G. His criticism comes just days after former winners Little Mix labelled her an ‘actress’.
‘She’s just no. I think she’s an actress, I’ve been told she is as well,’ Jesy Nelson said during an interview with Kiss FM.
‘I’m all for entertainment, but I’m also all for real talent as well,’ Leigh-Anne Pinnock added.
