The programme sees the Duke of Cambridge talking candidly about getting down on one knee in Kenya, admitting it was more of a spontaneous moment than a carefully thought out act when he popped the question to Kate.
“I didn’t really plan it that far in advance, like I just knew I wanted it to feel comfortable where I did it and I wanted it to mean something, other than just the act of getting engaged. She understands what it means to me being in Africa, and my love of conservation.”
Oh, you big romantic, Wills – combining your two loves in one magical trip. Swoon!
And his wife isn’t the only subject on the agenda. Speaking passionately about his 7-week-old son, the first-time-father reveals how his protective parenting skills have kicked in.
“Suddenly you start thinking of like, wow, there is stuff you want to safeguard for the future. I’ve always believed it, but to actually really feel it as well, it’s coming through powerfully now as well,” he explains to the film’s presenter.
As if we couldn’t love him enough already, he goes and pulls on the heartstrings sharing intimate feelings about his gorgeous little family!
The new pops also talks about his huge fondness for Africa and the importance of his animal conservation work. What a man. So, get your tissues at the ready and tune in to catch New Father, New Hope this Sunday on ITV at 6pm.
