New photographs of Prince George were released for his birthday. But one of them has received quite a bit of negative attention...
Prince George has just celebrated his third birthday, and the pictures made our hearts melt.
In celebration of the milestone, Kensington Palace released four new photos of Prince George, shot by photographer Matt Porteous.
The toddler could be seen playing on a swing that clearly belongs to his parents, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
His adorable side-swept hair, navy shoes and nautical stripes painted a picture of one very happy three-year-old.
But one photo in particular seems to have garnered quite a bit of negative attention.
George was joined by his four-legged-friend Lupo for one of the snaps. And, as if things couldn’t get any cuter, the young prince seemed anxious to share his ice-cream with his pooch.
A kind gesture, sure, but one that has sparked concern amongst animal lovers.

Because, it’s actually really bad for dogs to eat dairy – yup, their little tums just can’t deal with it.
The RSPCA has now stepped in with a statement.
The animal organisation advised, ‘It is lovely that Prince George is trying to help keep his family dog, Lupo, cool in these high temperatures.
‘We would advise people to be cautious when giving their dogs food meant for human consumption as some items, like chocolate, can be highly toxic to dogs and dairy items can be difficult for them to digest.’
Although the family’s cocker spaniel clearly wasn’t pictured actually eating any of the ice-cream, it’s good to know that this may have raised a little awareness during the hotter climes.
