One Direction This Is Us Premiere – Is Zayn Malik Engaged to Perrie Edwards?

For the 70,000 plus One Direction fans waiting outside London’s Empire Leicester Square the mood tonight was only heading in, er, One Direction… utter hysteria.

Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan arrived at the premiere of their movie One Direction: This Is Us tonight and the crowd went beserk.

But it was the arrival of Zayn’s girlfriend Little Mix‘s Perrie Edwards (who was wearing a stunning Patricia Bonaldi dress) that sparked the biggest discussion, thanks to the massive diamond sparkler she was wearing on her ring finger. Er, has Zayn gone and made this the night of his life and proposed?

At the time of her birthday in June, when Zayn reportedly bought her a Tiffany diamond ring (which is different to the one she was wearing tonight) Perrie, 20, said: “I got proposed to. I’m joking.” Then she added: “I think we’d all like that. It’s a bit scary for the boy, though. What if the girl says no? That would be awful.”

Perrie didn’t pose with Zayn on the red carpet tonight. But when we caught up with him, before Perrie and the ring arrived, he was only talking about the film. “We’re massively excited to be here to see all our fans.” he said.

Tonight LOOK was right in the centre of the action, which was rather amazing when a Burberry-wearing Harry Styles sauntered over to us for a chat. “It’s unreal, a little bit ridiculous, a lot of fun. I didn’t expect this reaction tonight, no way,” he said. “It always surprises us but this takes it to another level.”

With Niall Horan reportedly involved with Ellie Goulding after allegedly getting together at V Festival, we asked Harry how he felt to be the only single one left in the band. Not giving any juice away, he replied: “Am I? I need to have a group text because I didn’t get the memo!”

Of the film, which was made by McDonald’s expose Super Size Me director Morgan Spurlock and follows One Direction’s life on the road during their rise to worldwide fame, Harry added: “We mixed it, edited, we directed it, we produced it.”

A host of celebrities showed up to support the boys including their ultimate fan Simon Cowell, who arrived with his ex-fiancee Mezghan Hussainy. Doing his bit to gee up the sea of fans, Simon said: “What I will say is that they have the best fans in the world,” which prompted a chorus of screams.

Also out in force on the red carpet were fellow boyband Mcfly, Dermot O’Leary, Diana Vickers, Alex Zane, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, Laura Whitmore, fellow X Factor contestant Amelia Lily and Amir Khan.

Rochelle Wiseman and Marvin Humes, who are close pals of Niall’s were enjoying a night off from new parent duties and were joined by Marvin’s JLS bandmates Aston Merrygold and Oritse Williams.
