One Direction Are Getting Set For A BRITs 2014 Takeover

It’s almost awards season and to get us into the spirit, the nominations for this year’s BRITs with MasterCard Awards have finally been released – and we love the line-up! From One Direction and Jessie J to Ellie Goulding and Olly Murs, there’s no denying it’s going to be a night to remember.

Up for both Best British Group and Best British Single for One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks), the One Direction boys are expected to clean up at next month’s ceremony.

But that’s not all – 1D are also in the running to win the Global Success Award, which is based on international sales, and can no doubt rely on their massive online fanbase to scoop them the Best British Music Video gong too, which will be voted for via social media on the night of the awards

The BRITs Are Coming with MasterCard ceremony held in London last night also announced that superstar Ellie Goulding, 26, up for two awards – British Female, and British Single, for her two tracks Burn and I Need Your Love.

Chatting about her excitement for the awards in February, Ellie said: ‘To be nominated at the BRIT awards is a huge honour. I will always remember how important the Brits were to me every year as a child and how exciting they were.’

‘I’m so happy and grateful to be a part of it again this year – it really has been the craziest six months of my career.’

Jessie J, 25, who brought back her bob with a new funky fringe, is also nominated for Best Female. She couldn’t contain her excitement and took to Twitter to tell her followers. She wrote: ‘Wowowowow! Nominated for best British female! ‪‬#Brits2014 thank you thank you!’

It was also announced that Ellie Goulding will join the already confirmed acts Bastille, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Rudimental and Katy Perry and perform at the Brit Awards 2014, which will be held at the O2 arena in London on February 19th.

Sounds like a night not to be missed!
