Now in its tenth series, it sounds like the music mogul has been making some big decisions behind the scenes.
The new deal between ITV and Syco Entertainment, said to be worth nearly £150 million, also secures Britain’s Got Talent for another three series. So that’s six more years of singing, dancing and potential dog acts to look forward to.
But with a Simon-sized hole left in Gary Barlow’s judging chair, there’s talk of the dad-to-be finally making his triumphant return next year.
With Gary already confirming his plans to leave after December, alongside current judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne, Simon must have something special up his sleeve to excuse three more series.
Longstanding judge Louis Walsh was also set to part ways with the show, before hinting at a change of heart. Did he get word of Simon’s major shake-up?
Cue the Cheryl Cole rumours, as the Girls Aloud stars is back in the running to return with Dannii Minogue in tow.
‘I am thrilled that we have extended our deal with ITV for Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor. They have been fantastic partners and we have some exciting new plans to take the shows to the next level,’ says Simon.
Are you glad to hear X Factor and BGT will be around for three more years?
