Miley Cyrus Is About To Make History With THIS Performance

Miley Cyrus and Madonna are about to make the world of pop music implode with their hugely exciting new announcement. Yep, they’re teaming up for what will no doubt be THE MTV showdown of the year…

Iconic US pop legend Madonna will be 21-year-old Miley’s surprise guest performer for her upcoming MTV Unplugged special, it’s been announced.

Being filmed tomorrow, the one-off collaboration will air on MTV on Wednesday night at 9 pm. Sky record boxes at the ready!

‘The performance will showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus and feature surprise guests for an unexpected re-invention of the songs that have defined her career, including several from her #1 critically acclaimed album, Bangerz,’ MTV said in a press release last week.

‘Miley and her fans have always had an intimate and direct connection through her music, personality and no-holds-barred attitude and the Unplugged stage will serve as the perfect platform for her to show viewers what inspires and ignites her music and her passions.’

While there’s no word yet on what Miley and Madonna will be performing, let’s be honest – it doesn’t even matter. Either way, we’re expecting one hell of a show.

Miley’s made no secret of her infatuation with the pop veteran in the past, often comparing her own controversial stage performances to Madonna’s retro risk-taking.

‘Last night, I was talking about some Madonna performances, and I said, “At some point, everything becomes irrelevant”. Like, no one even thinks about when she did Like a Virgin at the VMAs’, the Wrecking Ball singer recently told the The New York Times.

That just becomes a standard, where it’s just like, “Oh, that’s her thing.” So, I feel like now that I did the VMAs, that just kind of became a standard for me, and then any time I do anything else, they’re like, “Miley kept it tame tonight.”‘

We’re excited for this one. And even more excited for those stage outfits…
