After the series finale last night, the 29-year-old actress confirmed that she and the Army gang will be back next year...

Who else is gutted that Michelle Keegan‘s Our Girl has come to an end?

We’ve been hooked on the BBC1 Army drama for weeks, watching with one eye open as Mich’s medic character Corporal Georgie Lane was captured by terrorists in Kenya.

She was rescued and brought back to the UK, but her kidnapper ended up following her in an attempt to carry out an attack on home soil.

Not only that, but Georgie had to deal with a love triangle between her fiancé Jamie (Royce Pierreson) and ex Elvis (Luke Pasqualino), who’d previously jilted her at the altar. Crikey.

Michelle, 29, was clearly feeling emotional before the final episode aired last night, captioning a photo of herself behind the scenes: ‘Because it’s the finale I’ll show you where it all began… At bootcamp! With @TercelMedGroup feels like yesterday! #OurGirl @BBCOne ❤️.’

Aw. So how did we leave things with Georgie and co.? Well, she ended up missing her wedding to stop terrorist Abu (Michael James) targeting a graduation ceremony.

After that, she told a heartbroken Jamie that she couldn’t go through with the marriage. We then saw her rejoining aid worker Yusra Warsama in Kenya.

YAAASSS. Girl power.

Michelle Keegan

But before you get too upset about waving goodbye to the series… it’s returning next year!

Michelle told fans on Twitter last night: ‘Well that’s an official wrap. One of the most incredible experiences of my life….

‘Thank you so much for your amazing support I feel so emotional right now. Thank you also to the amazing people who I was lucky enough to work with on this special project. Here’s to series 3!!!!❤️🙌🏽 #solucky #OurGirl2016 @bbcone.’

She also re-Tweeted a confirmation from BBC1, a meme with the words ‘Husbands? They’re overrated. I’ve got something much more important. I have a job to do’ written across it.

Eeee. Bring on 2017!
