After Mel criticised Little Mix's outfits earlier this year, the 42-year-old has been accused of hypocrisy...
Mel C’s caused quite a stir with her latest Instagram post.
The 42-year-old singer shared a very sexy topless snap last night, which showed her in nothing but a pair of nude briefs. She’d captioned it: ‘Cheeky little cover shoot tomorrow. Better get my work pants ready! 😝 #behindthescenes #versionofme #putsomeclothesonwoman 😳.’
She was quickly inundated with complimentary messages from fans (we mean, THAT bod), including: ‘Beautiful!’ and: ‘Melanie your body is a work of art!’
But she also received quite a bit of a backlash, mainly from Little Mix fans.
Why’s this? Well, if you cast your minds back to October, you’ll remember that the Spice Girl hit the headlines for criticising LM’s look.
She told the Sunday People that she’d banned her seven-year-old daughter Scarlet from social media, explaining: ‘She is a massive Little Mix fan but I’ve started to be more sparing in what I show her.
‘I don’t let her watch videos by artists that aren’t appropriate for her. That makes me a bit sad.
‘All young women want to look sexy and hot so I understand it’s hard. But I think it’s such a shame. We live in a narcissistic age – it’s 100% worse than when I was in the Spice Girls.
‘It was a more innocent time, although we were criticised for wearing crop tops.’
In light of this, one Mixer wrote on her new photo: ‘Looks like it’s time for you to keep Instagram away from your daughter after making this post. You know, ban her from keeping up with your whereabouts and doings on social media because your pictures are becoming too provocative, the same way you don’t want her to watch Little Mix because they wear leotards when performing!’
Others hit out: ‘And you had the nerve to criticize Little Mix,’ and: ‘Mel love u but kettle black after your comments about little mix [sic].’
