Matt Healy just said something kind of insulting about Taylor Swift. And we’re not happy.
The 1975 frontman was romantically linked to Swifty a while back, after she was spotted rocking one of his band tour tees and also attending a 1975 concert.
But in a new interview, Matt raised eyebrows when he stated the reason why he never would have wanted to date the pop star.
‘So the one time I did have a flirtation with a girl it ends up going everywhere’, he said, recalling the time when him and Taylor were linked.
‘I mean, I got on E! News and people were like, “Who’s Matt Healy?” so that was cool,’ he sarcastically told Q Magazine.
‘I didn’t make a big deal out of it myself,’ Matt continued. ‘It’s not really anything to talk about, because if she wasn’t Taylor Swift we wouldn’t be talking about her. She wasn’t a big impact on my life.
‘It’s just interesting to me how interested the world is about Taylor Swift.’
And then came the thing he really shouldn’t have said.
He added: ‘The reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift, I would’ve been, “‘F***ing hell, I am not being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.” You know, “F**k that.”
‘That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing.’
Er. EXCUSE ME? Did this guy really just say that dating a super successful, gorgeously talented woman would be ’emasculating’? Wow.
Doesn’t seen to bother Calvin Harris though, does it? We think we know who the winner is here.
