Made In Chelsea's Millie Mackintosh: I Didn't Inherit Millions
Talking to The Mail On Sunday's Live magazine, Millie says that she's "completely self-sufficient" and doesn't live off her family's money, as everyone assumes.
She says: "I’m routinely referred to as the heir to the Quality Street fortune. As though I hit 21 and inherited millions. If only. It’s not as if I get a cut every time someone eats a toffee. My family sold the business years ago. I’m comfortable, but I don’t live a flash life.
"I don’t have a Bentley or a chauffeur. Unlike Bernie Ecclestone’s daughters, my dad isn’t about to buy me a multimillion-pound flat. My parents helped me out with rent when I first moved to London but I’ve been completely self-sufficient for the past two years.
Wowser. Millie's great-great-grandmother was responsible for creating a new sweet recipe in the 19th century. Her son went on to create Quality Street, Caramac and Toffee Crisp.
Millie adds: "Every time I see a family buying a box of Quality Street for Christmas, it makes me think that my ancestors are responsible for that."
We'll think of you when we tuck into the green triangles in our Christmas onesies, Millie! RM
