Sophie Gradon kinda split opinion when she left Love Island earlier this week.
The 30-year-old ended up her time in the villa on Wednesday night, telling her fellow Islanders: ‘Guys, I’m going to go. I’ve been feeling like this for a while. Now, I think my time is done.’
Once the group had recovered from the shock of her announcement, they gathered to give her an emotional send-off, with the Geordie lass walking into the sunset with her pink Miss Love Island sash firmly in place. Aw.
Viewers assumed that the reason Sophie quit the show was because of a particularly evil game from the producers, which let the contestants see what people on the outside had been Tweeting about them.
Sophie heard the Tweet: ‘Sophie slated Terry for doing what he done to Malin yet she’s going to do the exact same,’ which certainly caused some fireworks.
As we all know, she’d shared a kiss with Katie Salmon just days after her ‘ex’ Tom Powell had been booted off the island.
After learning of the Tweet, we saw her dumping Katie as she dramatically announced her heart was still with Tom, saying: ‘It’s not fair to couple up with someone who’s potentially interested in taking things further.
‘I don’t want to do something that I regret and ruin my relationship with Tom. I want him.’
Now ex-Islander Tina Stinnes – who left the show last night – has defended Sophie, telling Digital Spy: ‘I was the only person that had Sophie’s back because I know what it’s liked to be confused.

‘It wasn’t the Tweets necessarily that it brought it back for her – it would have happened eventually.
‘She would still have had those feelings for Tom. They did have a good relationship – I know they did argue a lot. She had that attraction to Katie but she was trying to move on but she couldn’t.
‘I don’t think she had done anything to be malicious.’
Will Sophie and Tom work things out between them? Only time will tell…
