Olivia Olson has just revealed how she really felt about her co-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster...
We may have watched Love Actually approximately 1947142 times, but the storyline of Sam’s childhood crush on Joanna still gets us right in the feels.
If you haven’t watched the festive flick every Christmas since 2003 (we mean, who ARE you?), let us recap.
Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) confesses to his stepdad Daniel (Liam Neeson) that he’s in love with his schoolmate Joanna (Olivia Olson).
Daniel encourages Sam to learn the drums so he can accompany Joanna in the finale of their school’s Christmas show. Y’know, the one where she belts out All I Want For Christmas Is You like a total boss.
But Sam doesn’t feel as though he’s made his feelings clear, so at the end of the film, he makes an airport dash to see his sweetheart before she flies home to the United States.
She gives him a kiss on the cheek, and our hearts probably swelled more than his.
But believe it or not, Olivia and Thomas’s real-life story is possibly even cuter than the one that played out on screen.
Olivia is now 24 and has revealed exactly what happened between them behind the scenes. And as it turns out, the relationship was kinda reversed.
She tells E! News: ‘It was my first kiss and on-screen kiss too. I was really nervous because I kind of had a crush on Thomas back in the day and I was also worried because I was taller than him.’
How cute?! While the pair didn’t get together, they’ve both had a lot of success since their Love Actually days.
Thomas, now 26, plays Jojen Reed in Game Of Thrones, while Olivia is a writer, actress and singer.
Producers, take note. We’re thinking a sequel about what happened to Sam and Joanna would be very, very welcome.
