There's been a whole lot of speculation surrounding Little Mix's lyrics, but these new claims are pretty shocking...
It stands to reason that you’d draw on personal experiences when writing a song, right?
Well, it seems as though Perrie Edwards, who famously split from her former One Direction beau Zayn Malik last year, has been working things out through her music.
There’s been a heap of attention on a number of lines from Little Mix’s new album, Glory Days, with many believing that they’re about the 23-year-old singer.
When their recent single Shout Out To My Ex hit speakers everywhere, the title alone had many assuming that it was about Perrie Edwards’ former flame.
But if new reports are to be believed, it seems as though the original lyrics might have been a lot closer to home.
News AU are said to have obtained the original words, which appear to reference Zayn’s new girlfriend, Gigi Hadid.
According to multiple reports, Perrie allegedly sung, ‘Heard he been f***ing some model chick, yeah that s*** hurt me I’ll admit, but f*** that boy I’m over it.’
Now, we know break-ups are never easy, and to see someone you loved move on with someone else is always going to hurt, but girls shouldn’t be tearing other girls down, right?
Of course, there’s no confirmation that these shade-throwing lyrics are actually accurate, and the important thing is that they were never actually released.
Instead, the official version includes the line, ‘This is a shout out to my ex, heard he in love with some other chick, yeah yeah, that hurt me, I’ll admit, forget that boy, I’m over it.’

Still pretty sassy, though.
Gigi, who doesn’t usually shy away from speaking her mind, has kept a dignified silence since these fresh rumours came to light.
She has, however, posted a photo to Instagram which includes a shout out to her best friend (and fellow model) Lily Aldridge.
Wishing her a happy birthday, she wrote, ‘Thanks for always havin my back…’
