Since leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house on Friday, Lewis Bloor has wasted no time in shutting down the ‘showmance’ rumours that had been surrounding him and Marnie Simpson.

Taking the hot seat on Loose Women yesterday, he explained: ‘Those pap pics were a bit unfortunate.

‘She was with Ricky [Rayment] at the time and he called me and asked if we went home together.

‘But we had gone from one work event to another in a taxi for and I hadn’t seen her since. It’s been nice getting to know her.’

Now, you may remember that Ricky, who used to be engaged to Marnie Simpson, spoke out about Lew’s relationship with Marns while they were both still in the CBB house.

At the time, he told the Mirror that he suspected Lewis and Marnie might have had a ‘fling’ before the Channel 5 show, saying: ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if [Marnie and Lewis hook up], I’m sure they’ve had a fling before. I won’t be watching.’

But just hours after his eviction, Lewis told The Sun: ‘Me and Ricky only ever saw each other when we filmed.’

The former TOWIE star continued, ‘Ricky made a phone call to me one time when the whole thing with Jess Wright was going on and he asked me man to man if anything had happened with me and Marnie, or me and Jess.

‘I swore on my mother’s life that me and Marnie had only met on a night out as strangers and nothing happened.’

He also added: ‘If Ricky wants to call me and talk about it then he can call me any time he wants, because I love that girl and that’s not his woman.

‘She’s my girlfriend and I mean that.’
