Girls cast at the HBO premiere party

Girls finally arrives in the UK tonight!

The new TV show about 20-something women in New York City was created by 26-year-old Lena Dunham, who stars in, writes, and often directs the show.

Series one starts as Brooklynite Hannah Horvath (Lena) is told by her parents that they won't support her financially anymore, and follows Hannah and her friends Marnie Michaels (Alison Williams), Jessa Johansson (Jemima Kirke), and Shoshana Shapiro (Zosia Mamet).

The show was nominated for five Emmys this year, won one, and our friends across the pond have been buzzing about it since it aired on HBO over in the USA. We've watched it, and loved it, and we can't wait for you to check it out too!
