We all saw how upset Lauren Murray was during The X Factor results show at the weekend.
After learning that she was in the bottom two with Che Chesterman, the 26-year-old returned to the stage for the sing-off in floods of tears.
She was clearly emotional as she belted out Rachel Platten’s Fight Song, and was still sobbing as the judges chose who’d be going home.
It’d be easy to assume that Lauren felt gutted because she was so close to losing her place in next week’s grand final.
But in an interview with Good Morning Britain yesterday, she revealed that there was actually another reason.
She said: ‘The main reason is because me and Che were so close and he was the last person I wanted to do the sing-off with.’ Oh, Lauren :(.
Simon Cowell couldn’t make his mind up, leaving the decision to go to deadlock. This was when it was confirmed that Lauren had received the lowest number of public votes.
So where does the Essex-born lady think she went wrong?
She continued: ‘I just don’t think I was having a good week. My throat wasn’t feeling good. All week I had a feeling that it was going to be me. It’s obviously a bit gutting to go out at this stage.

‘I think it boils down to numbers at this stage. I think this year’s been a really strong year and it could have been anyone [going].
‘Nerves do really get to you, there’s so much pressure. We don’t have a lot of rehearsal time. It’s live so you have to be perfect.’
The X Factor has been hit with a number of fix rumours this season. The latest came when Lauren appeared to mouth the name ‘Louisa’ before it was announced that Louisa Johnson had made it through on Sunday.
Hmmm. What was that all about, Lauren?
She explains to Yahoo!: ‘I just knew that it was going to be me, everyone knows that Louisa is going through. I had a feeling that week it was going to be me.’
And to GMB, she said: ‘Yeah, it’s about music and the judges, but at the end of the day it’s a TV show and there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes.’
