There has been talk of a huge rift between a former Strictly Come Dancing couple. Here's all the dance floor drama they didn't tell you about...
Lets be honest, it’s never easy to see a Strictly favourite get booted from the dancefloor. Especially not when they look as good in sequins as the lovely Laura Whitmore.
And so, we were pretty gutted when Laura and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice found themselves waltzing away from the BBC dance competition two weeks ago.
After a pretty darn strong dance-off, it was decided by judges that competitors Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton should stay- meaning Laura and Gio had danced their last dance. Major sad faces.
And, although suspicions were aroused by Giovanni’s choice of an impromptu solo move during the routine, things still appeared rosy between Laura and Giovanni at the time.
In fact, after being eliminated, both partners had taken to social media to thank each other for the experience.
Laura writes, ‘Had the most wonderful time! Thanks to everyone for the support and kind messages’.
Giovanni also shared an adorable message to Twitter, writing ‘Thanks for the great journey together.. great partner and a great dancer @thewhitmore and thanks for all your support guys ! Love Gio’.
However, since the pair waltzed away from the dance floor, there has been talk of tension growing between Gio and Laura.

A source has alluded to The Sun that the pair began to clash towards the end of their Strictly journey- ‘During rehearsals, Laura got increasingly agitated with Gio’s tone and general rudeness’.
The source continued, ‘There’s certainly no love lost between them and it’s doubtful they’ll remain in contact when the series is wrapped up later this month’.
Now, if this is true, we can totally understand a lil’ work place tension- considering that the pair spent *every* *single* *day* *together*.
The source then went on to suggest that the relationship between Giovanni and Laura was already on rocky ground due to Laura’s close friendship with former Strictly contestant Georgia May Foote, who went on to have a relationship with the professional after her 2015 stint on the dance floor.
However, Laura and Giovanni haven’t suggested at any type of tension themselves.
We’re sure it’s nothing more than a workplace tiff- and we’re very much hoping to see the lovely Laura return to the ballroom for the Strictly Christmas Special.
