The TV presenter opens up about her Strictly Come Dancing experience on Loose Women...
When you think of Strictly Come Dancing you think sparkles, sequins and Saturday night telly – but Laura Whitmore’s opened up about the tougher side.
The 31-year-old appeared on Loose Women earlier today, where she spoke about her journey on the BBC1 show.
She admitted: ‘I’ve never had so many low points. I cry all the time. So, we help each other through, and well we have this WhatsApp group.
‘We have this WhatsApp group we had from day one. We are all so close.’
Laura’s had a particularly difficult ride, what with her suffering a painful ankle injury in rehearsals.
She was forced to pull out of a live show, which she’s previously said she was ‘absolutely devastated’ about.
She’s now confessed that she tried to hide her pain from partner Giovanni Pernice, saying: ‘I didn’t tell him. I just want to be my best. He’s been great, he keeps asking me if I need rest and he brings me chocolate.
‘Giovanni is one of the most incredible dancers I’ve ever seen but he does sweat, he puts everything into it.’
And it seems as though she’s not the only one suffering.
She continued: ‘We’re all injured. We’re all working through them. This is unlike anything I’ve ever done, I’d rather be talking and showing.
‘I’m going to physio, and I’m all strapped up, but we’re working through it. It’s part of it, so if I didn’t love it, I wouldn’t be here.
‘I didn’t realise how much you actually do. I think what happened with me was I was dancing for two days for like seven hours without knowing I had an injury.’
But it’s not as though her injury’s putting anyone off – Laura was flooded with kind comments after her interview.
Tweets read: ‘Laura Whitmore is so gorgeous,’ and: ‘Such beauty❤️one very classy lady.’
Aw. We totally agree.
