The Strictly Come Dancing star opens up about how the rumours of her falling out with Georgia May Foote have affected her performance...
Laura Whitmore has revealed a sad truth about her and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice – that she’s too scared to get close to him.
The TV presenter has been plagued with rumours about her and her partner, Giovanni, ever since they were paired up at the start of this series.
And it’s all because she just so happens to be friends with his ex, Georgia May Foote, who split from Giovanni just a few months ago.
There were rumours of an explosive row between Laura and Georgia, which Laura later denied on her Twitter page. Since then, neither women have spoken about it. Until now.
In a new interview with You, Laura has revealed that Georgia actually unfollowed her on Instagram because she was posting photos of her and Giovanni in rehearsals.
‘Georgia – who is a good friend of mine – has been lovely but I felt things had been spoilt before I’d even got a chance to start’, Laura admitted.
‘She did [unfollow]. But she’s following me again now. It’s complicated. I understand she doesn’t want to see pictures of her ex. But everything gets blown out of all proportion.’
The Irish presenter, who found herself in the bottom two on Sunday night’s Strictly show, has also confessed that the complicated situation between her and Georgia is even affecting her performance.

‘It has definitely affected my dancing’, Laura said. ‘I’m so self-conscious I haven’t allowed myself to develop a proper partnership with Giovanni.
‘He’s aware of it and so am I but I keep holding back. We were the first out on the floor on the first show and I was so nervous I couldn’t feel my legs. But I was fully aware I wasn’t letting myself go because of all the rumours about us.’
Aw. We really feel for her. But on the plus side, we think she’s been looking AMAZING on the dancefloor. So keep that head up, lady!
