Kristen Stewart is reportedly being hounded by Nike to become the latest face of the brand.
The 23-year-old Twilight actress is known for her scruffy-yet-seriously cool casual style, so it’s no wonder the global sports brand are keen to put K-Stew’s name to its stylish wares.
‘It’s no secret how much Kristen loves Nikes,’ an insider told RadarOnline. ‘She often changes into a pair of Nikes after walking the red carpet in heels.’
But the notoriously private Hollywood starlet, who is already the face of Balenciaga, is said to be taking some convincing. ‘It’s not the easiest deal to make, as Kristen has shunned dozens of offers to endorse products since her rise to fame in the Twilight films’, the source adds.
‘She’s terribly self-conscious about seeing her face on products.’
Nike has already had a series of famous male faces promoting its goods, but are said to be after a stylish female face to help appeal more to young women.
‘Nike execs believe that with her tomboy cool image, Kristen would be the perfect celebrity spokeswoman to create some new excitement about the brand.’
Nike have since issued a statement denying the claims – sniff! ‘Kristen is very talented and we’re delighted she chooses to wear Nike, but we’re not in discussions with her over an endorsement contract,’ a Nike spokesperson told Vogue.
