The 21-year-old was seen storming into the judges' room on Saturday night's show...
The X Factor
‘s been hit by even more fix claims. Eep.
After contestants were accused of miming last week, now one of Saturday’s performers has come under fire.
If you tuned in, you’ll remember dance teacher Kirsty Murphy. She was the 21-year-old who gatecrashed another act’s slot by storming into the audition room.
She sobbed: ‘I really want to sing to you guys and they’re saying they’ve got no time for me to sing. I know you want a fighter and I’m here to fight.’
Apparently, she was worried she’d missed her chance to perform in front of the judges, as it was almost midnight and she was still waiting.
Despite producers insisting that she should leave immediately, Simon (surprisingly) seemed kinda impressed.
He invited her to sing – and she ended up getting through to Boot Camp.
She’s since explained: ‘It was a long day of auditions and I had been there since the morning.
‘It was nearly midnight and one of the team said that unfortunately there was no time to see me today and that they would try and reschedule my audition for one of the London dates.
‘At first I thought that was fine but then I was with my mum and we saw a door labelled Judges’ Room in front of us.
‘Mum asked what I was going to do. I’d already seen the judges do a speech that day about what they wanted to see and I was excited to audition.

‘I had been waiting for years to perform in front of Simon. I had seen him in the other room earlier in the day and I just wanted to do it, to sing and prove myself.
‘I said to my mum: “I’m just going to go in there,” and at first she was shocked and said: “No you can’t!” but then she switched and said: “Yes you can, get in!” and she actually pushed me in.’
However, not everyone was so convinced by her story.
Tweets included: ‘So… she ran in already mic’d up? #setup #xfactor,’ ‘Staged drama klaxon,’ and: ‘This is so fake it’s hilarious.’
She’s since denied this, and a spokesperson for ITV has insisted: ‘Kirsty storming in to audition in front of the judges was completely genuine.’
But it’s not just fix rumours that she’s had to deal with. Kirsty has also hit back at claims she was ‘rude’ for interrupting another audition, telling one viewer: ‘I didn’t go barging in to wreck someone else’s chance. It’s not all how it looks – Editing is powerful! ❌.’
Unfortunately, Kirsty didn’t make it through to the Six Chair Challenge, but she’s reassured us: ‘All I can say is watch this space?.’
We wonder what she’ll have up her sleeve next time…
