Kimberley Walsh launched her stunning debut range for Very.co.uk last night, at a super-swanky press dinner at the Soho Hotel. And our lucky lot were invited. Wearing a gorgeous purple fitted shift dress from the collection, Kimberley hosted the dinner to announce and share the news that she’s edited a 23-piece range for the catalogue brand. And it’s every bit as gorgeous as you’d expect.
Perching up next to us as we ate our chocolate mousse, Kimberley said: ‘It’s been so much fun selecting my favourite pieces for the edit. I wanted to select glamorous and easy-to-wear pieces and include something for everyone and I think I’ve achieved that.’
And that she has.
She added: ‘The Very teams have been so great to work with, from the design teams to the PR teams, it’s been so nice. I’ve worked on lines before, with New Look and with Puma, but with this edit I was really able to think about my friends that are all different shapes and what they would wear. There’s lots of colour, but also some plainer pieces for those who aren’t as brave. I’m so pleased with it all.’
The range consists of pretty shifts, tea dresses, a monochrome skirt and shirt, plus plenty of prints, lace detailing and gorgeous spring trends. And it won’t be her last range for the brand, either. Yay.
Prices range from £29–£69, so it’s totally affordable and the collection comes in sizes 8–20.
So what’s next for Kimba? ‘I’d love to do more serious acting,’ she told us. ‘I did Shrek but I’d love to get my teeth into a great role. Maybe even Downton Abbey!’
And when we asked her if she’d be upstairs with the Granthams or downstairs in the kitchen, she replied: ‘Downstairs I think, with the northerners.’
That’s our gal.
The range is available to buy now, with some extra pieces dropping on 1 February. We’re already fighting over the polka dot tea dress.
