Katy Perry isn’t known for her straightforward style profile, but this weekend she turned fashion on its head in just 24 hours. On Sunday, she attended the first screening of The Great Gatsby in New York rocking a festival look with a flower head garland, boho earrings and an adorable matching brocade top and skirt. Katy embraced her carefree Coachella side at the screening, unlike pals Carey Mulligan and Gwen Stefani who were strictly monochrome.
But then, who is this we see at the Met Gala 2013 the very next day? A new vampy Katy in this creation by Dolce & Gabbana, featuring a mosaic sequin pattern depicting none other than the Virgin Mary. Not afraid to stand out, the singer finished off the outfit with heavy crucifix earrings complete with an ornate gold crown – because when you’re famous, it’s totally cool to wear a crown to a party. The ensemble might be a million miles from her laid-back festival look, but we loved both of her fabulous fashion alter egos. And now we want a crown so badly.
