Kate Middleton‘s police guard accidentally shot his firearm while guarding the Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge’s home in Wales last week.
The police officer was apparently sitting in his car with a colleague when he accidentally fired the gun. Thankfully, no-one was injured, but an investigation is still being launched to work out exactly how and why the incident happened.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Shortly before 1pm on Wednesday October 24 an on-duty MPS police officer unintentionally discharged a firearm while in an unmarked police vehicle.
“The round damaged the floor of the vehicle. Another on-duty officer was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Neither officer was injured.
“The officers were on duty in north Wales at the time.”
A spokesperson for Clarence House declined to confirm the incident happened, saying: “We cannot (confirm it) because such an incident would have to be handled by the Metropolitan Police.”
We’re so glad no-one was hurt… scary stuff! RM
