Kate Middleton and husband Prince William are set to follow royal tradition by giving the public the first glimpse of their new baby on the steps of St Mary‘s hospital as they pose for photos with their newborn just days after the birth.
Just like Will’s late mother, Diana Princess of Wales, who posed for photos with her and Prince Charles’ newborn upon leaving the London hospital in 1982, the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge and her hubby are set to follow suit by sharing their new arrival with world as soon as possible outside the maternity ward.
“They will pose with the baby for pictures,” a royal insider reportedly told Us Weekly. “While it is a deeply personal and private event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge realise this is a time of national celebration and that there will be vast interest in the baby. They realise many people will want to share in their happiness.”
The birth of the royal bundle will be officially announced via a public notice at Buckingham Palace, despite rumours that the exciting news would be broken on Twitter.
“We want there to be a degree of theatre about the birth announcement”, sources at the palace said in regard to honouring the historical tradition. “This is the birth of the third in line to the throne so it is very important.”
We are counting down the days until this little one is welcomed into the world!
