Kate Middleton has accepted offer to become an honorary member of the All England Club, a prestigious royal role at Wimbledon.
The Duchess Of Cambridge is also rumoured to be taking over from the Duke Of Kent as Club President when he decides to step down.
A palace spokesperson said today: “The Duchess was pleased to accept the kind offer, particularly given her interest in tennis.”
Kate is a regular in the royal box and has attended some of the biggest games with Prince William and her sister Pippa. You’ve only got to look at pictures of the royal covering her eyes with her hair and biting her lip to realise just how passionate she is about watching the sport, so it comes as no surprise to us that she’s accepted the offer.
However, given that Kate’s baby is due in July, we doubt we’ll see her sitting courtside much this year. If you need someone to take your seat while you’re looking after the royal baby, Kate – just give us a call… RM
