Kate Middleton had to field a pretty unexpected question in India yesterday.
According to PEOPLE, the 34-year-old was left to explain something a little personal as she and husband Prince William enjoyed a garden party in Delhi.
The event had been organised to honour William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday. So Kate was probably expecting some pop, a slice of cake and a boogie to Saturday Night, right?!
But instead she was, er, asked how she lost her baby weight after giving birth to children George, two, and 11-month-old Charlotte.
It’s not really the sort of thing you expect to hear as you mark your grandmother-in-law’s special day, but Kate showed she’s the perfect Duchess and rolled with it.
Fellow attendee Professor Bulbul Dhar-James explained: ‘We said: “How do you lose all the weight after having two kids?” And she said: “I am running after my kids!”
Dhar-James then asked her she kept in good spirits throughout her royal engagements, continuing: ‘I asked her: “Aren’t you tired of smiling?” And she said: “Im just reciprocating. Everyone is so warm.”‘
The professor also told Kate she looked even better in person than in pictures, and Kate thanked her for the compliment.
‘She was so gracious,’ said Dhar-James.
So what did guests get to enjoy at the bash? Well, the lawn was ringed with stalls serving Hendrick’s gin, Johnny Walker black label whisky and wines Jacob’s Creek Chardonnay or Shiraz Cabernet.

Kate looked stunning in a monochrome Temperley dress, which featured a floor-length skirt and an intricate embroidered pattern.
She’d styled her brunette locks into a pretty half-up ‘do, and had finished off her look with a pair of dramatic drop earrings. Beautiful.
But the most exciting part of the occasion was probably when Kate and Wills cut the cake – with a sword!
Crikey. We’re not sure that’ll be happening at our nan’s next soirée…
