The weekend saw some great news for the Kardashians and Lamar Odom’s family, as their prayers seemed to have been answered.
The former NBA player has woken up from his coma, and E! News have reported that he has also spoken with his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, saying ‘hey baby’ and ‘good morning.’
Reports state that he has also begun communicating using hand signals to communicate, and has also been able to breathe on his own, and has left his hospital bed with the aid of a chair.
The former coach at the University of Rhode Island, Jim Harrick, spoke to USA Today about the moment that Lamar woke up.
He revealed that it came as Khloe was speaking to him. Jim said: ‘She reached down and said “you know I love you” and he kind of nodded.’
According to PEOPLE, Khloe Kardashian is still concerned about his condition, and she ‘won’t leave his side.’
A source told the publication: ‘She wants to be there so that whenever he opens his eyes, he sees her.’
The source also revealed that she is ‘happy he is off the ventilator and is breathing on his own, but she is still scared… He’s woken up and his heart is stronger, but there is still concern about his organs.’
Last week, the world kept a close eye on Lamar Odom’s condition, with heartfelt messages swarming on Twitter, willing his recovery.
Sources revealed to TMZ that Lamar had squeezed Khloe’s hand on Wednesday night, whilst he was still in a coma. This gave everyone a little hope that he may be on the road to recovery but, sources said that Lamar had shown no signs of consciousness or improvement, and that his organs had begun to fail.

One source told the publication: ‘The doctors are concerned it has been too long that he’s been in this condition and now it’s not looking good.’
Earlier that week we reported that Khloe Kardashian may be responsible for any medical decisions regarding the basketball star, due to the fact that they’re still technically married. PEOPLE also reported that his close family and friends were preparing to say ‘goodbye’, as, sadly, the situation wasn’t looking good.
The Kardashian family rallied together during the tragic time, releasing a joint statement to say that business was on hold during Lamar’s treatment.
Published to their site, the statement read:
‘As a family, we’ve decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar.
‘Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time.’
E! news have reported that Kim Kardashian, who is preganant with her second child, cancelled her baby shower, which was due to be held at the weekend.
Thankfully, things seem to be looking a lot more positive now.
