Justin Bieber has made a pretty drastic pop star decision, even for him.
Despite being one of music’s best-selling artists, with a fan army of millions, Bieber has decided to ban all of his fans from taking pictures with him. And we kind of understand his reasoning.
The 22-year-old announced his decision on Instagram last night, writing: ‘If you happen to see me out somewhere know that I’m not donna take a picture I’m done taking pictures’, he wrote.
‘It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognise me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity.’
But Bieber’s next comment perhaps could have been put a little more sensitively, and angered fans in a big way.
Attempting to justify his decision, the Love Yourself singer then got a little patronising about his fans.
‘I realise people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture’, he continued. ‘And people who say, “But I bought ur album” know that you got my album and you got what you paid for, AN ALBUM!
‘It doesn’t say in fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo.’
As expected, many fans were devastated with the star’s announcement. And angry, too.
‘At least be a lil f**king nice because we are humans too and you owe us more than a picture @JustinBieber’, one blasted.

‘Ur fans give you everything and you give them absolutely nothing in return. It’s really gonna bite you in the ass when they all leave you and your spoiled brat attitude’, another slammed.
Whilst another added, sadly: ‘Its not so hard to take a picture with a fan.I love you and always support you but this is wrong.’
However, some sided with Bieber, expressing their support at his decision to look after his mental health. ‘We are here for you Justin I think you have made the right decision-stay strong’, another wrote.
We think JB should do what’s best for his health. And if this is it, so be it.
