Jennifer Lawrence is set to storm this year’s glitzy awards season once again following this morning’s announcement that she’s up for a 2014 BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress.
As well as gearing up to present the Golden Globes this weekend, the 23-year-old actress now been nominated for her critically-acclaimed bad girl role as Rosalyn in gritty crime flick American Hustle, in which she starred alongside on/off screen BFF Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams.
But while J-Law may be a front-runner in for the prestigious award in our eyes, she faces some seriously tough competition…
Also up for Best Supporting Actress is Hollywood veteran Julia Roberts for August Osage County, Lupita Nyong’o for 12 Years a Slave, Oprah Winfrey for The Butler and Sally Hawkins for Blue Jasmine.
Best Supporting Actor nods range from Bradley Cooper and Matt Damon to Michael Fassbender and Daniel Brühl, while Best Screenplay nominations go to Gravity, Blue Jasmine, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska and American Hustle.
Hot US heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio will be gunning for the Best Actor gong alongside Christian Bale, Bruce Dern, Tom Hanks, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
And the Best Actress category isn’t short of dazzling A-list talent either, with Sandra Bullock, Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench and Emma Thompson all fighting it out before February’s star-studded ceremony.
And now for the big one – nominated for Best Film we have 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity and Philomena.
We hope J-Law scoops a gong just to witness her epic acceptance speech. But who are you rooting for this year?
