Jennifer Lawrence: I Want To Send A Positive Message

Jennifer Lawrence is already our number one Hollywood girl crush at the moment, and it seems every interview she gives, there’s something else to love about the young actress.

Speaking to French magazine Madame Figaro, the 23-year old actress revealed how she feels she has a repsonibility to her young fans, esepcially since taking on the iconic role of Katniss in The Hunger Games.

‘[It] would be hypocritical [of me] to deny that girls take me as an example, and say that I don’t have any responsibility to them. Because clearly, I have.’ J Law said. ‘I know the influence of celebrities on young people. I was a teenager, and I want to send a positive message.’

The Oscar-winning actress also shared in the interview that she used to have anxiety issues as a child. ‘My nickname was “Nitro” as nitroglycerin. I was hyperactive, curious about everything. When my mother told me about my childhood, she always told me there was like a light in me, a spark that inspired me constantly. When I entered the school, the light went out. We never knew what it was, a kind of social anxiety. But I had friends.’

Jennifer goes on to say that acting was the thing that finally helped her: ‘One day, I begged my parents to take me to a casting, we went to New York and that’s where I started acting. Just on stage, my mother saw the change that was taking place in me. She saw my anxieties disappear.’

J Law has seen her career turn stellar in the last couple of years, and it looks like it’s set to continue that way. While she’s currently in our cinemas in the second instalment of the Hunger Games franchise, she’ll be back next month in American Hustle opposite Bradley Cooper.

We can’t wait to see those two back together…
