The 'rapper' has gained a heap of attention for all the wrong reasons...
A major talking point of this year’s X Factor show has been wannabe rapper Honey G.
Since stepping into the X Factor spotlight, the aspiring rap artist has raised eyebrows left, right and centre.
Honey G, real name Anna Georgette Guildford, has won her place in the live shows week after week, and has not yet been in the bottom two.
Despite her glowing success on the show, she has been at the receiving end of a mass of criticism, with many viewers speculating that Honey G is ‘fake’ and an ‘actress’.
Little Mix sensation Jesy Nelson and rap superstar Professor Green have even slammed the contestant, with Pro Green even saying “she’s taking the right mikey out of rap”… Eeek!
Honey G has caused even more upset after this weekend’s show, where viewers saw the finalists preforming a moving song in light of Remembrance Day.
While the remaining contestants came together to sing a dedicated song, Honey G was seen silent in the back of the group, throwing up the occasional rap hand sign.
Some fans of the show reacted with anger, labelling Honey G’s behaviour as ‘disrespectful’.
This comes within days of the 35 year old receiving criticism surrounding her past, after new details surfaced.
In an interview with The Sun, the rapper confessed her past battles, saying, “I have struggled with addiction,” she admitted to the paper “I have nothing to hide.”
She continued, “The thing about me is there is actually a story behind me and my life. It’s not like, ‘Hi I’ve just turned up on X Factor’.”
Fans of the show took to Twitter to complain that Honey G should be removed from the show, with some mentioning that Frankie Cocozza was removed from the competition after a story surfaced about his involvement with drugs.
The public are well and truly divided over the rap star, with many still tweeting their support…
Whatever your opinion on Honey G, there’s no denying that she is sailing through the live shows and continues to receive outstanding feedback from all four of the judges!
And she always gets the people talking…
