Gwyneth Paltrow has set her sights on making a cameo in the next series of Downton Abbey, according to reports today.
The actress is said to be a huge fan of the ITV period drama, and has decided she’d like to focus on more TV roles following her successful stint on Glee.
Series four of Downton Abbey returns to our screens later this year and will pick up from Matthew Crawley’s tragic accident following the birth of his son.
A source told Star magazine in the US: “Gwyn just wrapped Iron Man 3 and is so sick of blockbusters and wants to focus more on TV.
“She adored working on Glee and told her team to get her on to Downton Abbey. She’s been told that creator Julian Fellowes is thrilled and is fleshing out a cameo for her.”
Julian has hinted at what’s in store for the new series, revealing: “There are tough times for Lady Mary I think we can say that.”
Could Gwynnie offer her a shoulder to cry on? We hope so! RM
