The 31-year-old takes to Instagram to share the reality of postpartum regrowth, and gets *a lot* of support from followers in the same boat...
Once again, Giovanna Fletcher has shown that she’s one of the most relatable celebrity parents.
The 31-year-old – who has sons Buzz and Buddy with McFly’s Tom Fletcher – took to Instagram earlier this week to complain about a lesser-talked about part of motherhood.
Gi posted a close-up snap of her hairline, which showed a neat tuft poking out from her quiff.
She’d captioned the image: ‘The regrowth… waaaah! I look like a troll! Xx.’
Hair loss during pregnancy is totally normal for some women. It’s also known as ‘Telogen effluvium’, and according to the NHS, it occurs due to hormonal changes.
The hair usually starts to grow back three to four months after giving birth.
After sharing her shot, fans were quick to share their own stories with Giovanna.
One wrote: ‘Im so glad youve posted this, iv had this problem since my daughter was born and thought something was really wrong with my hair, i feel so relieved im not on my own! X [sic].’
Others said: ‘I called them my wings as they were growing out ?,’ ‘Omg I have this to. I didn’t know it was a thing.xx,’ and: ‘The bane of my life! Thanks for sharing! X.’
Giovanna first met Tom, 31, as a teenager, when they were both students at London’s Sylvia Young Theatre School.
They married in May 2012 and welcomed first son Buzz in March 2014. Little Buddy arrived this February.
We think it’s great that Giovanna is so open and honest about family life. And for the record, she’d look beautiful whatever happened to her hair.
