The Emmerdale actress is *not* about to let online trolls make her feel bad about herself...
Gemma Atkinson will not stand for body shaming.
The Emmerdale actress, 31, has totally transformed her physique over the past few years, and even describes herself as a ‘fitness fanatic’ on her Instagram page.
This is something to celebrate, right? We mean, she’s looking ah-mazing, and is clearly happy and healthy.
But while chatting to Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on This Morning earlier today, she admitted that she’s been the target of cruel online bullies, who’ve mocked her appearance. *Sigh*.
She said: ‘People say to me: “Real women have curves.” Well I don’t – I am straight up and down. It’s mostly men actually, they say women shouldn’t have muscles.
‘But that’s like me saying to a man that unless they look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, they’re not a man, which isn’t right. I just ignore all the trolls.’
We couldn’t agree more, lady.

This isn’t the first time Gemma’s spoken out against trolling. Last month, she captioned an Instagram photo of herself taken seven years ago: ‘So many people comment on this & msg me saying how much thinner I was then & how much better I looked [sic].
‘The truth is, YES. I was a lot slimmer then. (Too slim for my height in my opinion) But what no one knew apart from my family, close friends & my agent was that I was going through an absolutely horrendous time.
‘I was coming out of a relationship & reading / hearing so many stories about myself all of which were false. I was ill with worry & on edge 24/7 for weeks. It was awful. I couldn’t eat. If feeling like that is what it takes for me to be “super slim” then show me the cake!!!’
Well said, Gemma. We think that’s a message that everyone should remember.
