Why GBBO’s Jane Beedle Is Putting The Show ‘To One Side For Now’

This news about Great British Bake Off's Jane has broken our hearts a little.

With the Great British Bake Off now in the final stages, we feel like we’ve really got to know this year’s competitors.

And women who has won a special place in our hearts is the wonderful Jane Beedle. Not only are her bakes pretty epic, but she’s also so blimmin’ nice. We kind of wish she could be our adopted mum, TBH.

Which is why it’s all the more heartbreaking to hear what’s been going on in Jane’s family life off-camera, because Jane’s dad suddenly died just last week.

‘Jane and her family are absolutely buzzing over her success on Bake Off but have had to put the BBC show to one side for now’, a source has told The Sun.

The 61-year-old, who is said to have been extremely close to her dad, dropped hints that she might be spending time with family when she tweeted that she was with her brother in France last week.

‘With my, not so little, brother in France. It’s lovely to see him but it’s a shame it’s in sad circumstances. Fun to watch #GBBO together’, she tweeted at the time.

And now we know why.

‘Jane’s father’s health took a turn for the worse and sadly passed away last week. Even though it’s the Bake Off final next week Jane wanted to make sure she was there with her family to clear his house and go through the belongings. It was a really emotional time.’

The talented baker also shared a sentimental vintage photo of her mum and dad’s wedding cake, writing: ‘Mum and Dad’s wedding cake. Now must get back to work or I’ll not get anything done.’
