Gary Barlow won’t be returning to the X Factor judging panel next year, it’s been confirmed.
Rumours that the show’s dishiest silver fox (sorry, Louis…) would be quitting the show after the tenth series to focus on his music career first surfaced earlier this summer when host Dermot O Leary let slip that 42-year-old Gary was on his way out.
“If Simon comes back, the dynamic would be very different”, Derm spilled to reporters about boss Simon Cowell returning to the show in 2014. “Gary wouldn’t be there – he’ll be leaving at the end of this year”, he added.
But when grilled back in August, the handsome man himself was quick to deny that he’d many any decisions. “In all honesty, I honestly don’t know, it’s too early,” Gary insisted. “I was asked this question last year at the same time but it’s far too early to tell.”
But now, his close pal Chris Evans has confirmed the rumours once and for all. On his BBC radio show, the DJ revealed: “Apparently Gary Barlow is feeling the pressure ahead of the live shows. By the way, this will be Gary’s last year on the X Factor... because he told me last week.”
Massive sad face. What will we do without the panel’s resident man candy to ogle at every Saturday? Who would you love to replace him?
