It’s been a very sad week in Celebland. On Monday evening, Gary Barlow released a statement announcing the tragic loss of his daughter, Poppy, who was delivered stillborn at the weekend. The Take That star has now returned to Twitter to thank fans and celebrities for their messages of support.
He said: “Your kind words and lovely messages are overwhelming. thank you.” (sic)
At the time, Gary said: “Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby. Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4 in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected.”
So incredible are Gary’s fans, that they’ve now started a charity in honour of baby Poppy. So far, nearly 300 donations have been made, totalling more than £2,000 on fundraising site JustGiving.
Our love and thoughts are with you, Gary… RM
