Fifty Shades Of Grey movie bosses have finally announced that the two lucky actors set to play lead roles Ana Steele and the mighty Christian Grey are… Dakota Johnson (just as LOOK predicted!) and Charlie Hunnam.
If you haven’t heard of either yet, don’t worry – we’ve got the lowdown on the two lucky leads. First up, Dakota.
You may recognise the 23-year-old American beauty from The Social Network (where she played Justin Timberlake‘s quippy one-night-stand) and from her minor role in LOLfest 21 Jump Street. Her rents are Hollywood big hitters Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, but all in all she’s a relative unknown. But with her girl-next-door looks and sassy attitude, we reckon she’s more than well-equipped to take on the mammoth task of playing the innocent yet feisty Ana.
And now for Mr. Hunnam. Born and bred in Britain, this 33-year-old Scouse hunk first carved a name for himself in Byker Grove – we know, amazing – and has since gone on to star in saucy TV series Queer As Folk, US biker drama Sons of Anarchy and 2013 Hollywood blockbuster Pacific Rim. Charlie’s huge rippling muscles and current caveman appearance may need a bit of tidying up, but one thing’s for sure – this one’s aaall man. And we can’t wait to see him and his wrist retraints in action.
Author E.L. James tweeted the much-awaited casting news last night, posting: “First I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey”. Minutes later, she followed up with: “The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Now that the leads have finally been announced, we want to hear what you think! Did they make the right decision? Let us know below.
