has proved she’s a woman of many talents by reportedly breaking up a nasty showbiz fight between rappers P Diddy and J. Cole at a VMAs after-party on Sunday night.
The superstar singer and her wavy new bob were seen rocking up to Diddy’s late-night bash at the Dream Downtown Hotel in New York for an evening of champers and celebrations, despite her and hubby Jay-Z skipping the actual MTV Video Music Awards ceremony earlier that evening.
Bey may have looked ready to party
in her body-hugging black dress with cut-out side panels and skyscraper heels, but according to reports, the singer soon found herself in the middle of an ugly 3am brawl over Diddy’s sexy singer girlfriend Cassie.
A partygoer told the New York Post: “J. Cole was saying inappropriate things to Sean Combs and his girlfriend, Cassie. Sean immediately pounced. Some pushing and shoving happened. No punches were thrown, but it was a visible disturbance. A few bottles splashed to the floor and some partygoers were knocked over.”
And it was peacemaker Bey who stepped in to stop things getting nasty – despite Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Lady Gaga and Drake all being at the same star-studded bash… Pfft. “It was mayhem”, another guest told the New York Daily News. “Beyoncé was yelling to stop and Jay-Z was separating people and getting people away from Bey.”
Seriously, can this couple get any more amazing? We know, we know – fighting’s not big or clever, but we like to think we’d pull a Bey and give those brawling boys a talking to if we ever found ourselves in a similar situation. Luckily for Bey, it all got sorted in the end, with Diddy jumping onto the club mic later to announce: “It’s all cool! Ya’ll keep having fun! It’s no big deal, it’s over.” Phew!
If she ever gets bored of superstardom, maybe she could consider joining the boys in blue? PC Bey to the rescue!
