Emmys: Claire Danes Wins Outstanding Lead Actress For Homeland
Homeland stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis scooped two of the biggest awards at last night's Emmys in Los Angeles.
Claire Danes took home the golden statue for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series while Brit Damian scooped the award for Outstanding Lead Actor.
The series fought off competition from Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.
Dressed in a simple acid yellow Lanvin strapless gown to show off her baby bump, Claire took to the stage to thank her hubby Hugh Dancy in her emotional acceptance speech. She said: "Thank you to my husband, my love, my life, my baby daddy. I couldn't do anything without you. I love you so much and I am so grateful." Cute!
Downton Abbey was nominated for a whopping 16 awards on the night, but only Dame Maggie Smith (the Dowager Countess) was lucky - winning the gong for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series.
You can watch highlights from the ceremony on 5USA tonight at 10pm.
We'll bring you all the best outfits from the red carpet shortly… what a night! RM
