You may have noticed that a certain BBC1 soap was missing from the TV schedule last night...
We’re all loving the Olympics, right?
Well, most of us are. But some people are a little bit annoyed about the fact that coverage of the Rio Games has taken over our TV screens. Eep.
Yesterday, EastEnders and Holby City were moved from the schedule to make way for sporting events. And almost immediately, confused fans started taking to Twitter.
Comments included: ‘Eastenders is not on I don’t know what to do with myself,’ ‘Wish the olympics was on a channel nobody watched I was buzzin for eastenders tonight n its not even gonna be on,’ and: ‘Just literally jumped out of bed to watch eastenders and it’s not even on ffssss [sic].’
But don’t worry, ‘Enders fans! To make up for yesterday’s no-show, the soap will be back on our screens at 8pm tonight. Phew.
And it looks like it’s going to be a good one…
TBH, the BBC has been in a bit of a tricky position when it comes to Olympics coverage.
It’s previously been criticised for making viewers channel hop in order to stay tuned in to the action, usually to make way for programmes such as ‘Enders and the news.

One message on Twitter reads: ‘BBC’s habit of channel hopping is amateurish. Especially mid event,’ while another says: ‘You deserve a medal for being able to keep up with the BBC channel hopping this Olympics.’
One particularly angry watcher added: ‘Anyone else sick to death of channel hopping to watch the olympics or is it just me!! ? [sic].’
