Downton Abbey WILL be returning to ITV1 for a fourth series next year. And not only that, but producers have confirmed that there will also be a Christmas special hitting our screens next month. Hurrah!
The costume drama, which has proved to a be massive hit in the US and won countless awards, will return to ITV1 next Autumn. The cast will begin shooting scenes at the famous location, Highclere Castle, in February.
The show’s executive producer Gareth Neame said: “Viewers can look forward to more drama, comedy, love, hatred, jealousy, rivalry, ambition, despair and romance.”
Eek, we can’t wait!
However, there could be some sadness on the cards, as rumours are circulating that Dan Stevens, who plays the gorgeous Matthew Crawley, is yet to agree to a fourth series.
The 30-year-old actor is currently starring in a Broadway show opposite Jessica Chastain.
Come back, cousin Matthew!
We’ll bring you more news as soon as we hear it. Sob!
